Poofie :Hamster

poofie

This is my first hamster pet, his name is called Poofie. He is being raised by me and my wife. He nearly died becasue of my carelessness but luckily we managed to save him. This is what happen. We normally take Poofie out for him to have some fun running around the house and sometimes to be fed by us. He likes to be fed and not getting the food himself.
Everytime my wife will remind me to close the cage door after bringing him out, but I always turn a deaf ear to her nagging as I feel Poofie is very timid....then one fine day (its was a Sunday) as we were leaving for church...I gave the cage a check and to my horror..Poofie was not inside......I was very terrified as our house can be so big..where could he have gone to? Lots of bad thoughts came to my mind as we search ,panicking for him......We searched very long for it until my wife said that normally they like to hide behind the fridge as it is warm there....so I used a torchlight and shine over there...then I see a very pathetic moving animal..it was Poofie....He was very dirty because of the dirt and he was very afraid...we tried to lure him out with his favourite food : sun flower seeds......He slowly picked up his food then when he was within our grasp, my wife caught hold of him but he was very afraid and he tried to struggle himself free...We quickly put him inside his cage but he ran around like as if he was mad....I feel so sorry for him and my wife said he might not be himself anymore after this experience..... We waited a few days more and tried to take him out and see if he is still the same....Thank God...he is still the same Poofie...He is okay with people patting him, carrying him and most of all, he still like to be fed...This picture was take a few weeks after his horrible experience...The lesson: "always listen to your wife "Nagging"

Singapore: National Stadium

This is the last National day celebration held at the National stadium. My wife has always commented that she prefer to watch the National day celebration at home. I guess its because of all the waiting and the "after celebration"congestion that she don't like. 2006 is different, I told her that this is the last time we will be at this stadium. She was very understanding so she got her mum (my mother-in-law) to get us 2 tickets. When we got there, the atmosphere was totally different, there were so many many many people and the feeling was great. Hope this picture conveys the massive celebration

Malaysia: KLCC

This photo was taken during my business review, this is my 2nd time visiting KL, the first time was due to work so I did not bring any camera. This time was just some business review so I managed to have some free time to tour around and managed to get this shot.

Australia (Melbourne: 12 Apostle)

We had our honeymoon in Melbourne as we feel the need to see the "12 apostle" before nature takes it away. This shot was captured just before we went down to the beach and before my wife wet her jeans while trying to save my tripod and camera from the rushing waves. I had placed my tripod and camera on the sand to take a picture of us with one of the rocks. I was too focused in my composition that I did not noticed a wave was coming...luckily my princess saves the day..

Austria (Salzburg)

My wife and I had a funny encounter in this church. There was a man who was stationed to collect voluntary donations from people that visit this church but mostly those tourists will just ignore him. I gave him my donation and he began a little chat with me asking where I was from. I told him "Singapore". He stared at me, seems like he has never hear before and ask "Is it a huge country?" I smiled at him and told him I don't think so, then he asked again "What do you speak in your country?" I said "English, Chinese, Hokkien, Cantonese, Teochew, Malay"......then he said "oh my, that is a big country!". He shoke my hands and we left.

Germany: Auer Alms

I had a very fun time doing this trekking with my German boss, he says that most of the time most German will cycle or climb up a mountain on their weekend. The journey took us 45 min to an hour before we reach a beer garden. Yes, they have beer garden even on a mountain top. The food and beer was very nice, not to mention the scenery

Australia (Sorrento)

This is one of our honeymoon pictures. We took a ferry to fetch us across the Mornington Peninsula instead of driving around the Peninsula. This is more time saving and besides we have never sat in a ferry that carried both people and vehicles before so why not??? We even role play ourselves in "Double Jeopardy". It was much fun until it was time to retrieve our vehicle. The journey took us 10 to 15 minutes...

Austria (Salzburg)

This is my first time visiting Austria (Salzburg). I had a very nice sausage breakfast before embarking my journey to visit "Mozart" area. The houses and the tranquility captured me and hence I decided to take this photo
